BiographyJames D. Janes worked for J&L Steel after serving three years in the Korean War. He first worled at the Aliquippa Works in the Industrial Engineering Department. In 1957, J&L built a strip mill; Jim worked for five years as Senior Turn Schedule, being promoted in 1962 to Schedule Planner, a position he held until 1982 when the mill shut down. He was then transferred to the Raw Materials division.
