Historical NotesThis sculpture of a replica of a blast furnace was awarded permanently to the Isabella Furnaces for having won a safety award on three separate occasions.Label TextUnited States Steel waged a continuous program dedicated to the prevention of accidents. Among many trophies employed as rewards for fine performance, one in particular was significant in achieving the remarkable record attained by the Blast Furnace groups of Carnegie Steel Corporation. This replica of a blast furnace was awarded permanently to the Isabella Furnaces for having won it on three separate occasions.
