Historical NotesThe Ambridge Italian Women's Club cup belonged to Joseph D'Andrea's wife Gloria, whose mother was one of the original members of the club, which disbanded in the 1970s. Part of a collection that Joseph D'Andrea acquired through his illustrious career in Pittsburgh. During his lifetime he was the Consul of Italy for Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia; President of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA); member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Association; member of the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania's Board of Trustees and chair of its Italian American Advisory Council; and founder and president of the Italian Cultural Heritage Society (AMICI).
