Label TextMetal flour scoop, wooden potato masher, wooden rolling pin, cookie cutter, teapot, and darning egg. Kathryn Lang Young (1865-1916) immigrated to the United States from Germany in the 1870s and used these items in her home once she was married and settled in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. These items are reflective of the gender roles and ideals of domesticity that were observed within households during this time period.
