DescriptionMale lion display figure. Indonesian-style. Animal is crouched on its hind quarters with front legs straight. Head is turned slightly proper left. Mouth is open, tongue protrudes, and beard extends down from chin. Constructed of red and gold painted wood and painted plaster(?) with green, blue, silver, and red glass inlay. Ornate carving and sculpted details throughout body including spirals, leaf, and floral motifs. White painted teeth. Human-shaped male reproductive organ on underside of hindquarters identifies this lion as male. Tail is no longer intact.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 66 × 30 × 41 in.
