Historical NotesUsed in Marasco's grocery store on Logan St. in the Hill District. The original Wagner sausage stuffer was designed and patented by John Wagner, a German immigrant living in Pittsburgh, in 1859. This improved Wagner stuffer was patented in 1883.Label TextGerman immigrant John Wagner patented a unique, sausage-stuffing device in 1859. At the time, he worked as a locksmith in Pittsburgh. This later version of Wagner’s invention was used at the Marasco grocery store in the Hill District.
