(6.4 x 3.8 cm)Historical NotesThis card series were inserted in packages of Old Judge and Gypsy brand cigarettes. One of only eight baseball players in the set of tobacco cards which feature realistic color drawn portraits of athletes across several sports. Dunlap's card is also found as a more common Detroit Wolverines version (whom he played for in 1887, then with Pittsburgh in 1888). Fred "Sure Shot" Dunlap played second base. One of the earliest Pittsburgh baseball trading cards. The Alleghenys, who become known as the Pirates, played in their first season in the National League in 1887. Dunlap managed Alleghenys for a short time in 1889.
