Historical NotesGeorge F. "Doggie" Miller was primarily a catcher, later succeeded by Connie Mack. One of only six baseball players in the set of tobacco cards which feature realistic color drawings of athletes across several sports.One of the earliest Pittsburgh baseball trading cards, Miller earns $1,800 for the Alleghenys, who become known as the Pirates, playing in their first season in the National League in 1887.
