DescriptionWhite fabric rectangular armband with an attached blue circle patch at the center featuring a triangle with red and white diagonal stripes. Two white elastic bands are attached to each end of the armband. The reverse has a pouch open at one end. Handwritten name on reverse of fabric on edge of pouch.Dimensions3.75 x 7.5 in. Historical NotesCivil Defense air raid arm badge. Both donor Ruth Vogel Redenbaugh’s father John G. Vogel and grandfather Fred Schueler were air raid wardens in the North Side during World War II. The donor’s grandfather Fred Schueler, a Westinghouse retiree, was the sector warden for Zone 14, Sector 1, Post 7 in the North Side. He was given the position of sector warden because he was retired and able to stay at home.
