DescriptionRectangular paper political badge. Red and black text provides campaign message surrounding image of flags, wheat, and two candidates. The focus of the image is on the two candidates. Both of the photos are elliptical portraits of the men, wearing suits and neckties. Banners to the top and bottom of both state who the men are and what they are running for. Historical NotesMajor Levi G. McCauley was a Union officer in the Civil War. For a time he was a prisoner at Libby prison. He was a Republican politician from Chester County who served as PA Auditor General from 1898-1901 James S. Beacom was a prominent attorney from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He was born December 9, 1853, and was the Pennsylvania State Treasurer from 1898-1900. Found in collection.
