Historical NotesThis Alcoa bracelet belonged to donor Vicki Stephenson's aunt, Sharon Crusan Dodson. Dodson worked in the Alcoa building downtown as a telephone operator in the 1960's before leaving to work for TWA. Dodson graduated from high school in 1957 and got a job at a local phone company in Kittanning to help her family financially. Shortly after, she moved to Pittsburgh and got a job as an operator at Alcoa. She lived at the YWCA until she could afford an apartment with roommates. The donor, Stephenson, remembers her father taking her to meet Dodson under the Kaufmann's clock when she was around 7 or 8 (1959-1960) and they went Christmas shopping and to see the Alcoa building. Her aunt often passed on belongings to her, including this bracelet, which she said they gave to “all of them."
