Historical NotesThis charm bracelet belonged to the donor Jane Finley. She collected them as a teenager in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Charms have been around since ancient times, but charm bracelets gained mass popularity in the Victorian age, mostly due to Queen Victoria’s personal love of charms. A resurgence of interest in charm bracelets in American occurred in the 1950s and 1960s when teenagers would collect them to commemorate special events in their lives. The donor’s charm bracelet is on the tail end of this trend. The charms are both of local and personal significance.
