DescriptionLight tan colored matching denim outfit includes overalls, jacket, and hat. Light tan colored denim overalls with two pant legs and a front bib that has two metal buttons and overall straps with bib overall buckle loops on the end. Two patch pockets on the back, and two sewn-in pockets on the front with slanted openings; sticking around pocket visible. Each side of the overalls has an opening with a metal button at the top of the hip. Button fly in the front. Light tan colored denim jacket has three metal buttons on the front; one breast pocket and two front pockets, all patch pockets; and a collar. Both sleeves have cuffs with a metal button to adjust cuff size. Back of the jacket has a black and orange felt design showing a year and the image of a tiger sitting under a palm tree and holding a drink. White tag sewn into jacket on the collar. Light tan colored denim hat has a rounded brim and elastic band at the back. Front of hat has an orange and black felt design with a year on it. Historical NotesOutfit worn by Adolph William Schmidt A financial and foundation executive and native of McKeesport, Pa., Adolph William Schmidt graduated from Princeton University and the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He was Vice President and Governor of T. Mellon and Sons, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, President of The A. W. Mellon Educational and Charitable Trust, and a Trustee and Treasurer of the Old Dominion Foundation. He married Helen “Patsy” Mellon (great-granddaughter of Thomas Mellon) in 1936. In World War II, Schmidt served as an intelligence officer with the Army and OSS in Africa and Europe from 1942 until 1946, and was discharged as Lieutenant Colonel. He was awarded the Bronze Star and two battle stars.
