Historical NotesThis pedestal came from sculptor Frank Vittor’s art studio, which was located at 2564 Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The top was used as a surface to model clay and plaster. A pipe was inserted through the hole to keep the clay or plaster secured until the pipe could be removed. Vittor’s grandson, Joseph V. Scatena, removed the pedestal from the studio after Vittor died.
