Historical NotesBadge from the North American Maccabi Youth Games. The JCC Maccabi Youth Games is an international athletic competition for Jewish teens. The Maccabi movement began in Constantinople in 1895, with the first international games held in pre-statehood Israel in 1932. The first North American JCC Maccabi Youth Games were held in 1982, with regional competitions added in subsequent years. The games were held in Pittsburgh in 1989, 1993, and 1997.
