Historical NotesProtest t-shirt collected to document the protests against the G20 meeting held in Pittsburgh on September 24-25, 2009. The t-shirt was worn during the march organized by the Thomas Merton Center and represented solidarity with refugees around the world. Their group protested on behalf of the women and children made refugees by conflicts supported by G20 countries. Code Pink, along with the Thomas Merton Center and Three Rivers Climate Convergence, was involved in a lawsuit against the City of Pittsburgh regarding their right to use public parks for protesting during the G20. The donor Francine Porter, coordinator of Code Pink in Pittsburgh, spoke at the rally in front of the City Council building.
