Historical Notes“I Wanna Marry You” Pittsburgh Pride June 7-16, 2013 t-shirt. The Delta Foundation organized the annual Pittsburgh Pride weekend event which featured concerts, vendors, and a parade. Delta Foundation folded in 2020 after 24 years. They formed in 1996 to provide a social outlet for the lesbian and gay community. Since 2007 they have hosted the annual Pittsburgh Pride weekend event. This event generated 90% of their yearly funds and its cancellation in 2020 due to Covid made the organization unable to continue operations. The organization had also faced controversy for the past several years with their board president resigning after impersonating an officer and accusations that the organization was represented primarily by cisgendered white men and sidelined the needs of the transgender community and queer people of color.
