Historical NotesThe "Square Deal" was a program created by President Theodore Roosevelt. This program consisted of three major goals: conservation of natural resources, control of corporations, and consumer protection. It's aim was to help middle class citizens, attack plutocracy and bad trusts, and protect businesses from extreme demands of organized labor.[1]
