Historical NotesSheet of stickers featuring the image of Mr. Yuk. The image was created by Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.Label TextIn 1971, the Poison Center at Children’s Hospital introduced a simple green sticker with an unmistakable frowning face as a way to keep children out of hazardous household products. With so many variations on the traditional skull and crossbones, Mr. Yuk emerged as a distinct poison education symbol that could save lives by directing people to call their local poison center. Thanks to an unforgettable advertising jingle that warned children, “When you see him stop and think, do not smell, do not drink!” Mr. Yuk became known around the world.
