Historical NotesThis Westinghouse Micarta sample belonged to Leroy B. Fuller. Fuller worked at the Westinghouse plant in East Liberty. The family does not know why in what position he was originally hired, but he spent most of his career as a salesman. He and his wife Dora S. fuller lived in Penn Hills. He passed in 1986. A Westinghouse salesman book owned by Fuller outlines the benefits of electricity for rural farmers, suggesting that Fuller worked in a rural market. Micarta is a plastic compound that Westinghouse used in both home and industrial applications. During WWII Micarta was used to make helmet liners.
