Historical NotesThis statue is a replacement from the early 2000s of an original statue at St. Nicholas Church. It was given to the church by Sacred Heart Croatian Church in McKeesport, where the then-pastor at St. Nicholas had served for 30 years. This statue was used during the Easter Season. It was first used on Good Friday, where it was layed on a platform and carried in a procession by altar boys dressed in a white surplice and black cassock. The statue was then displayed in the tomb until after the Saturday Easter Vigil. The original statue cracked and was bured in the hillside outside of the church sacristy.
