DescriptionSanta Claus Christmas decoration. Molded plastic Santa Claus figure stands on proper left foot in jaunty pose with proper right knee lifted, proper left hand pointing down, and proper right hand pointing up. Body and hat are covered in red felt with white cotton-like fabric trim. Hands appear like red felt mittens. Face is painted. White cotton(?) beard covers front of torso and is tucked behind black belt with rectangular gold buckle. Feet are in the shape of boots and are painted black. FIgure stands on circular wooden disk that is covered in red felt. Underside of base has hole at center that plastic figure is mounted into.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 12.875 × 7.5 × 6 in. Historical NotesThese decorations are from Benson's Department Store, a men and boy's retail clothing shop in Bulter, Pennsylvania. The store was owned by the donor Catherine Loevner's father-in-law Charles Loevner. This Santa Claus was used as part of the store window decorations.
