Label TextJournalist Tom Junod’s introduction to Fred Rogers set the tone for their relationship and for the article he wrote on Fred for Esquire magazine. As Tom recalled, Fred greeted him at the entrance to his New York City apartment building in his bathrobe and socks with “this big smile on his face.” He recounted Fred’s ability to never directly answer a single question and to keep him “off balance,” but he found the “aching kid” in all people. Their relationship is now chronicled in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood which makes it theater debut in November of 2019.
