Label TextFred wore a tie or bowtie on each episode of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and often when he had press interviews or traveled. Joanne recounts that one of Fred’s favorite stories involved a stewardess who mistook him for Orville Redenbacher because of his bowtie. The tie-dyed bow tie remained one of Fred’s favorites because his friend Jan Newberry, wife of Mister Rogers’ producer Sam Newberry, made it for him.
