Historical NotesMelissa Marinaro and Chris Fischer made this sign for the 2017 Women's March on Washington, D.C. Melissa traveled from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to participate in the march, which took place on January 21, 2017. Many other cities around the world also participated by holding marches on the same day. Melissa stated that "I chose the Venus of Willendorf because it’s a symbol of fertility and my personal reasons for marching were in support of Women’s’ Rights, especially concerning access to healthcare and reproductive rights."
