Historical NotesSTS-37 commemorative medallion mold belonging to Jay Apt. The mission commander, Steve Nagel, gave this half of the medallion mold to Jay Apt in recognition of his contribution to designing the mission emblem in cooperation with the graphics staff of Sky & Telescope magazine. Medallions in gold and silver were cast using this mold and purchased by crew members. Some of these were carried on STS-37 and given to family members after the mission.
