Historical NotesThe fruit crusher was produced by Berarducci Bros. of McKeesport, Pa, a local Italian American owned company that produced equipment for winemaking and other Italian foodways. The fruit crusher is the first step in the winemaking process and is used to break the skin of the grapes. Mark Giovannitti bought the hand-crank machine off of an “old timer” in McKeesport and used it in his winemaking process until 2015 when he switched to an automatic fruit crusher.
