Historical NotesThis hard hat is from the opening of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., and reflects Joseph D'Andrea's relationship with Fabio Goldschmied and Italian Jews of the region. Part of a collection of artifacts donated by first-generation Italian American Joseph D’Andrea that reflects the various activities he was involved in during his illustrious career in Pittsburgh as Consul of Italy, president of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Association, and founder and president of the Italian Cultural Heritage Society.
