Historical NotesUnion Railroad ID tag. Tags like this tags were used by the railroad employees to gain access to the mills. The numbers on these particular tags do not correspond with any known employee numbers, they might have been extras or misprints. The Union Railroad was originally part of Carnegie Steel and was used to transport material between the various steel mills and operations in the Mon Valley. It is still in operation today and is now a part of United States Steel.
