DescriptionFormed brass shackle with rounded outer edges, and inside is lined with leather. Two slots on one end that fit over a metal protrusion on the other end to size the band. Hemp cord tired to metal loop.Dimensions4.625 x 13.75 in. (11.7 x 34.9 cm)
Historical Notes18th-19th century shackles from the Tudway Plantation in Antigua, West Indies. The Tudway family was involved in plantation agriculture in the British West Indies, in particular, Antigua dating back to the 17th century.
