DescriptionSilver metal wheel with two layers creating a hollow space partitioned with curved fins which appear to cause the wheel to spin when air or a liquid is passed through. The wheel has a hole in the center allowing for an axle of some sort. The reverse side of the wheel has a white paper note attached to it which has writing in blue ink.Dimensions0.313 x 5 x 15.75 in. (0.8 x 12.7 x 40 cm)
InscriptionsThe reverse side of the wheel has a white paper note attached to it which has writing in blue ink reading: "FROM / JEFF / HAYES / 12/23/92".
Historical NotesDonor Leland Anderson is a writer and researcher who is the author of a number of published works on the electrical engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla. Tesla, who worked for Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company in 1888, was known for his work on the alternating current system, radio communication, and X-ray technology. Beginning in the 1940s and continuing over the next 50 years, Anderson compiled a large collection of research materials documenting the life and work of Tesla.
