DescriptionDouble edged metal blade that tapers to a broken point. Brass hilt with a spike at the base of the pommel. On the bottom of the handle are four circular openings with spikes on the outside edge.Dimensions2.875 x 11.375 in. Historical NotesM1918 trench knife issued during World War I. They frequently suffered broken blades and their limited utility and general unpopularity caused the AEF to empanel a testing board in 1918 to select a replacement. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
