MarksStamped in the side of the handle reads: "U.S. 1918 / L.F &C-1918".
Historical NotesM1918 trench knife issued during World War I. They frequently suffered broken blades and their limited utility and general unpopularity caused the AEF to empanel a testing board in 1918 to select a replacement. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
