Historical NotesOne of four wrestling WPIAL Championship medals, awarded to Andrew Puchany between 1936-1939. Canonsburg-native Andrew Puchany was the first wrestler to win four consecutive WPIAL championships. During his four years at Canonsburg High School, he also accumulated several state wrestling titles. He then went on to a Big Ten wrestling career at Indiana University, and later returned to Canonsburg to coach wrestling at his alma mater.
