Historical NotesBobbin lace pattern for a tea napkin, created in Pescocostanzo, Italy, birthplace of donor Antonella Di Ianni. The pattern belonged to a woman in the town, who gave it to the donor's mother, Pasqualina del Duca Zappa. The napkin was made by Pasqualina, who gave the piece to the donor when she got married. Donor Antonella Di Ianni came to Pittsburgh in 1959, and worked for Horne's Department Store as a seamstress. She has worked as a master lacemaker in the Pittsburgh area, having learnt the craft when she was a young girl in Italy.
