Other face has raised text "PRESENTED TO / [light hand inscribed lines; illegible] / BY THE PEOPLE / OF / WILMERDING, PA. / IN GRATEFUL RECOGNITION / OF PATRIOTIC SERVICE / IN THE / WORLD WAR / W&H CO."
Historical NotesWWI medal. Thomas Skeleton was from Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. He was employed as a machinist for Westinghouse Air and Brake Company in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania. Skeleton enlisted for the World War I draft in June 1917. He served as a soldier in the 664th Squadron during World War I. In 1918 he married Esther A. Esmieu and continued to work for Westinghouse until his retirement in 1953.
