Historical NotesGame-used hockey gloves by Pittsburgh Penguins center Jordan Staal, #11.Label TextThis Canadian hockey player had a huge impact on the Penguins, contributing to the team’s 2009 Stanley Cup championship with pivotal play at defensive forward. Drafted second overall by the Pens in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006, Staal set several records his rookie year, including being the youngest player to score on a penalty shot and to score a hat trick. Named to the NHL All-Rookie team, Staal finished third in the voting for the Calder Memorial Trophy (won by Evgeni Malkin). Traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012, Jordan played with his older brother Eric until 2016. Named a co-captain in 2017, Stahl became the Hurricanes captain in 2019.
