Historical NotesA wood Hazelwood Coke sign found in the Florida retirement home of donor Kathleen Boldy's grandfather, Forrest McIntire, who was a plant superintendent at J&L in Hazelwood in the 1940s. The sign documents this important part of steelmaking, the coke works, and is an ironic remnant of a hot, dirty part of the process.
