DescriptionColorless glass pitcher. McKee Brothers' Bellflower pattern, also known as Ribbed Leaf pattern or Ribbed Bellflower pattern. Colorless pitcher with a cylindrical body that tapers into an elongated neck and pouring spout. Design consists of a double vine undulating horizontally through the middle of the pitcher, with 3 bellflowers (one obscured by handle) and 3 shamrock-shaped leaves above the double vine, and 3 bellflowers 3 leaves below the double vine, each extending from the main vines on a stem. The background is ribbed, on the front of the pitcher only and only on the body, the inside and the neck are smooth. The base is clear and smooth and has a 1" footring/resting point and a very slightly concave, 2-inch shallow basal surface; long straw mark on footring. The neck and pouring spout are clear; the pouring spout is flared and squared-off. Applied handle with a 2-tiered decorative loop at the base of the handle.Dimensions9.5 x 3.5 x 7.5 in. Huff's wife, Sue Huff, a member of the Pittsburgh chapter of the National American Glass Club. The collection features two patterns, Bryce Brothers, pattern #125 “Rose in Snow” and the “Bellflower” pattern. The variety in form of these two patterns serves as an important addition to our pressed glass collection.
