DescriptionWhite ceramic tankard with gold paint around rim. One side has the crest for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire in black. The opposite side has the crest, printed in red, for the International Association of Fire Fighters in front of a ribbon that has text.Dimensions6.5 x 4.75 x 3.687 x 11.75 in. InscriptionsOne side has the crest for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire in black. Around the border of the crest is printed in black "PITTSBURGH BUREAU OF FIRE / 1870-1970".

The opposite side has the crest, printed in red, for the International Association of Fire Fighters in front of what appears to be a ribbon. The crest has text including "IAFF", "ORGANIZED / FEB / 28 / 1918", and "AFL-CIO / CLC". The top of the ribbon has printed in red "PITTSBURGH FIRE FIGHTERS / LOCAL NO. 1", the middle section has printed in red "67 YEARS", and the bottom section has printed in red "ORG. SEPT. 11, 1903".

The bottom of the tankard has a small black crest. Printed in the crest is "UNITED GLASS AND / CERAMIC WORKERS / OF / NORTH AMERICA".
Historical NotesPart of a collection belonging to Bernie Burns. The collection documents Firefighters Local No. 1, the firefighting union of which Bernie Burns was the president; his life as a firefighter; and additional items that document growing up in Lawrenceville in the 1960s and 1970s.
