DescriptionColorless nonlead pressed glass compote with lid. Deep dish pie plate-shape with squat octagonal waisted stem above frosted three-face design. Lid is flattened dome with fitted rim and frosted three-face finial.Dimensions12.25 x 7.25 in. (31.1 x 18.4 cm)Label TextIn 1874 when a patent was issued for the compote the design featured a plain stem. However, the construction of the Statue of Liberty and a general interest in classical art revived the use of the classic figure in design.
