Label TextIn 1874 when a patent was issued for the compote the design featured a plain stem. However, the construction of the Statue of Liberty and a general interest in classical art revived the use of the classic figure in design. By the 1880s Crystal Glass Co. produced this compote similar to ones made by Duncan Glass—both featured women on the stems. Crystal Glass Co., Pittsburgh
