Historical NotesFort Pitt Social Club and Nite Owls Club gambling chips. The Nite Owls Club was an illegal gambling/bookmaking club located above Eddie's Smoke Shop on the North Side from the 1930s through the 50s. The club was raided several times and there are accounts in the local papers. The Nite Owls Club became the Fort Pitt Social Club, although the Fort Pitt also existed at the same time and moved around to various locations on the North Side.
