In gold on inside of inner band reads: "HAENTZE THEATRICAL HAT CO. / PHILADELPHIA".
Historical NotesIn 1956, Victor Haentze began making made-to-order hats in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to "give an edge" to the costume business he had inherited from his father. He became known for styles that were the most authentic available. The Esser Costume Company is assumed to be the local Pittsburgh distributor of these hats. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
