Historical NotesOverholt whiskey crate, with government tags still attached. The crates in this collection were taken home by a state employee and made into shelves, when taken apart years later they were perfectly preserved. Overholt whiskey is best known because Abraham Overholt was the maternal grandfather of Henry Frick. In 1810, Abraham Overholt and his brother Christian began distilling whiskey on their farm in Westmoreland County.
