They settled in the Elliott neighborhood of the city. They lived on Chartiers Avenue at the corner of Marlowe. Joseph operated a butcher shop.Label TextMartha Marie Theresa Dobler and her husband, Joseph, emigrated from Germany to Pittsburgh in 1891, bringing along with them personal items such as this wicker bread basket. The Dobler family settled in the Elliot neighborhood where Joseph worked as a butcher until his retirement in 1929.
