DescriptionWedding dress consisting of outer dress, under dress, and chemise. Outer dress is off-white transparent lace with long sleeves and lace collar; back has silk fasteners going down the back to the waist; long train of lace with a fastener at the bottom used to pin dress up. Under dress is off-white nylon/silk. Chemise is silk with lace around chest and back.Dimensions50 x 16 x 24 in. (127 x 40.6 x 61 cm)Historical NotesLace wedding dress with chemise. Years ago this dress was given to donor Jane Dilmore Harvath by her boyfriend's mother, Clara Louise (Wolf) Bossong. She had no sons and was going to throw it out, but instead gave it to the donor. Clara was born in Canton, Ohio and moved to Millvale with her parents (Christian Wolf and Marie Reiger) when she was a child. Her father worked for Mesta Machine. In 1937 Clara married Charles P. Bossong at Saint Anthony's Church in Millvale. They settled in Millvale where they raised three sons. Charles died of a heart attack in 1954. After her husband's death, Clara worked in the Andy Gard Toy Factory in Lawrenceville and later as a saleswoman in the toy department at Kaufmann's in the North Hills.
