Historical NotesGift of Pittsburgh Passion, Inc. and donated by Michelle Brenenborg. The football is related to the inaugural season of the Pittsburgh Passion, a professional women's football team. Also included were a jersey, helmet, games used cleats, programs, tickets, player cards, photographs and promotional items. These objects, collected for the History Center's Sports Museum, allow us to talk about the history of women's football in the region (dating to the Pittsburgh Powderkegs in the late 1960s), as well as the changing demographic of sports.
