DescriptionPrinting press block of an image of Nikola Tesla's labratory on Long Island, New York. The image shows the laboratory building as well as Wardenclyffe Tower built behind it. Below the image is writing describing the image. The image and writing are a mirror image and are reversed. The image is blue from use in the printing press. The block is mostly unfinished wood with the image engraved on a thin sheet of metal. The sides of the block as well as the reverse are stained from the ink. The reverse has four pieces of white paper stuck to it of various sizes.Dimensions2 x 2 x 0.938 in. (5.1 x 5.1 x 2.4 cm)
InscriptionsBelow the image is writing which reads: "TESLA LABORATORY / LONG ISLAND N.Y."; text is inverted.

The left side has a mark of an "X" in what appears to be pencil.
Historical NotesPrinting press block of an image of Nikola Tesla's laboratory on Long Island, New York. Donor Leland Anderson is a writer and researcher who is the author of a number of published works on the electrical engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla. Tesla, who worked for Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company in 1888, was known for his work on the alternating current system, radio communication, and X-ray technology. Beginning in the 1940s and continuing over the next 50 years, Anderson compiled a large collection of research materials documenting the life and work of Tesla.
