Historical NotesUnited States Army Air Corps Advanced Flying School distinctive unit insignia belonging to Frederick A. Lepant who served during WWII. The Latin motto, "Ut Viri Volent" means "That Men May Fly." Frederick Albert Lepant (April 14, 1928-September 18, 2008) was a graduate of Schenley High School, and who resided in Bellevue, was a member of US Army Air Forces during World War II, from 1940-1947. After his military career he was a draftsman at Dravo and then an electrical engineer at Duquesne Light.
