Historical NotesWorn by Pittsburgh native Paul Spadafora, also known as the "Pittsburgh Kid," during the IBF Lightweight title-winning fight against Angel Manfredy at the A.J. Palumbo Center on March 9, 2002. Hailing from an Italian-American family in McKees Rocks, Spadafora was known by the nickname “The Pittsburgh Kid” – the same nickname used by the 1940s title winning fighter Billy Conn. The boxing uniform contains the logo for Iron City beer, illustrating Spadafora’s connection to the city and region. Prior to launching a stellar professional career, Spadafora won the 1993 and 1994 Pennsylvania Golden Gloves titles in the 132-pound class.
